Polites and Ares: A Chance Encounter

Painting of Ares and Polites for the Bloodstar AU; Polites having just been fighting to Protect Odysseus, and Ares, even though he is technically the god for their opposition, is watching over Polites; both in respect, and interest.

Ares has a thing for warriors who give their absolute all for something or someone. Warriors who will cross the line for their need and cause. Ares watches over Polites, and secretly gives him his blessings.

Depending on how this whole war thing goes, Ares might snatch Polites for himself.

Some fun notes!! Ares has armor sure, but he prefers to show off his battle scars. each one is proof of a battle he survived, and a lesson for himself to do better. Ares is a very reserved person, because he knows all his actions are used against him. He's a quiet man who doesn't speak much, however he says MANY things in his head, and will often deny himself when he subconsciously likes someone. Often times Aphrodite has to force him to realize he has feelings for someone or something, and then he goes baby mode because he's incredibly emotionally immature. Though that's because Athena would always use his emotions against him so he learned to box them up and hide them from even himself. Some of you might be thinking "but Ardy, what about Poseidon?" Oh yeah, Ares told Poseidon he doesn't care that Poseidon claims Polites as his. He's blessing Polites regardless and as far as he is concerned, Polites is his and Aphrodite's and he's just sharing him with Poseidon, and if Poseidon has an issue with that, he can throw hands on land (cause Ares would NEVER fight Poseidon by the Ocean) To those wondering, yes Ares does end up catching feelings for Polites, however he pretends they aren't real and assumes that he just really respects Polites, and Aphrodite clocks the fact he has feelings and she forces him to confront them and realize he likes him (Aphrodite loves it when Ares falls for someone cause she likes to watch ewe and also likes to play match maker) But all that will be drawn later ewe for now, I'M BAAAAACK!!!

share a random fact about bloodstar polites (i love him sm)

HMMM i have so manyyy ok so Bloodstar polites is ofc the favorite of Poseidon, we all know that and its due to Poseidon loving all the people Polites would kill and toss over board into the ocean, Poseidon seeing the violence as an offering to him, since Bloodstar Poseidon is one who loves intense, unrestrained shows of fervor and emotion, Turmoil and emotion as aggressive and boundless as the ocean itself. Now some may wonder "well, Bloodstar, those are red, red has nothing to do with Poseidon" Well yes and no. So Poseidon calls him bloodstar because he is his Bloody little star, but additionally that's not the first time the iconography of Bloodstar was associated with Polites. That was during the Illiad when Polites was in the war and every time Ares was watching the conflict and would give Polites his blessing, the stars would turn red, the Miasma of violence, anger, and passion being so strong, mixed with the Deities power that it would paint the heavens red. Due to this only ever happening when Polites would enter a frenzy on the battlefield, they were dubbed his Bloodstars. and he would later gain the fear inducing title of the Bloodstar for the first time. Additionally, Ares and Poseidon have fought over Polites before. Ares knows not to ever fight the god on the ocean, but he's also not dull. Ares is very very cunning. He would goad out Poseidon, drawing him out onto the land with insults and vile, hijacking the god's pride until he would attack him on land, and then and only then, would Ares duel Poseidon. And he won a good deal of them. But not all. Poseidon is still very much an incredibly powerful God, the only other god who has never lost to him and who Poseidon has a bit of fear towards in the Bloodstar canon is Hades. That's because the ocean cannot reach him or save him in the underworld, and even above ground, his own domain can be used against him. You cannot drown the dead. you cannot sink a soul. With that said Poseidon is a little shit and sometimes goes into the underworld to piss off hades just to get him to chase him so he can see if he can outrun his brother. half the time he does, half the time he doesn't and just accepts the consequences of his actions

More bloodstar Polites was imagining in this one, he feels the rage coming, and he's trying to resist the blood lust, and it's really hard, and he's losing, and he can't speak, so he's using his eyes to call for help

First off about how long does it usually take you to make your art? It's just really good art and I'm curious as to how long it takes you!

Second do you have any favorite art you have made? Just in general not just EPIC based and I would love to hear about why it's your favorite.

so to start off, it takes me from 3 hours to 8 hours to work on a piece.

hmm, i'd have to say these are my favorites that i've done! Honestly Epic ended up being an amazing muse for me

That Jesus painting is hanging up in someone's home and that makes me so damn happy
